Travel information


Visa approvals are only issued to authorized travel agents when you book your tour. Once the approval has been confirmed, it is then possible for your agent to book your flight. It is not possible to book seats prior to the visa approval being approved, so it is important to confirm your trip and provide your agent with a copy of the details page of your passport as soon as possible.
Your actual visa will be issued on arrival at Paro Airport. Cost is USD20.


The royal government of Bhutan has set an inclusive fixed tariff. Peak season march/may-sep/Nov USD 200 per person per day, off season Jun/Aug-Dec/Feb USD 165 per person per day.


Individual and small groups of less than 3 participants there is additional surcharge above the daily applicable rates as follows:
Single Pax USD 40 per day
Group of 2 Paxes USD 30 per person per day


Accommodation on the twin sharing basis with meals.
Transportations and sightseeing within Bhutan by a deluxe vehicle.
The services of the guide/porters/ ponies wherever required.
Royalty and Taxes to the Government.
Monastery and monuments entrance fees if any.


Diplomats from foreign embassies and missions accredited to Bhutan shall be given a 25% discount on daily tariff. The students below the age of 25 years holding valid identity cards from their academic instituations shall also be given a 25% discount on daily tariff. Children up to the age of 5 years are free of cost. Those between 6-12 years accompanied by their guardians are entitled 50% complimentary. A discount of 50% is given to one person in a group of 11-15 pax. A discount of 10% on the daily tariff shall be provided for halts between 11-20 nights and 20% discounts on halt beyond 21 nights.

Cancellations and refund

Tour programs booked and subsequently cancelled shall be subject to cancellation charges as follows:
Before 30 days- No charge
Within 21 days – 10%
Within 14 days-15%
Within 7 days – 30%
Less than 7 days- 50%
After arrival Bhutan- 100%

Delayed arrival/Departure
There shall be no charge for the number of delays in arrival/ departure of visitors due to weather condition, Druk air problems or road blockeds. They will be charged only the actual expenses on accommodation, food and transport and other required services.


The southern part of Bhutan is tropical, with the east of Bhutan tending to be warmer than the west of the country. The central valley of Punakha, Wangdue, Mongar,Tashigang and Lhuntshi enjoy a semi climate with very cool winters.Thimpu,Tongsa and Bumthang have a temperate climate monsoon rains in the summer and snow fall in winter.
Winter in Bhutan is from mid-november until mid-march and this time the climate is dry. The monsoon arrives mid-june with rain fall and end of September autom suddenly arrives and is a magnificent season for trekking and tour.

The best way to enter Bhutan is by Druk air, the national air carrier and following places are connected with Druk air flight.
India- Delhi and Calcutta
Nepal – Kathmandu
Myanmar- Rangoon
Thailand- Bankok

By surface
Entry or exit is also possible through Phuntsoling boarder west bangal –India and through Samdruk jonkhar to northern India.
